There’s just something special about a great Thanksgiving dinner—family gathered around the table, full plates, and football on TV all day long. Watching the Detroit Lions and other NFL teams take the field is almost a yearly reminder that when Thanksgiving wraps up, high school basketball season truly begins!
Our Chargers basketball teams have been working incredibly hard, and they’re well-deserving of a short break before things officially ramp up. Once we return from break, our winter sports calendar gets moving quickly. Our Girls Varsity team will ease into competition with a scrimmage against Kent City’s JV Girls Basketball team. Then, both our Middle School and Varsity Boys teams will take the court in a “home” double header on Thursday, December 4th at Appleview Elementary in Sparta.
Week in Review
Middle School Boys Basketball
Our MS Chargers only had one game last week, and they made the most of the extra practice time. They traveled to Our Savior Lutheran and walked away with a thrilling 28–26 victory. With the win, they move to 3–2 on the season and will look to keep the momentum going after the break.
Varsity Basketball Reminder
This is a reminder that both varsity teams will have their Parent/Player Meeting on Monday, December 1st @ 5:15 P.M. @ Beach Elementary. This meeting will take place directly after the Boys Varsity practice and right before the Girls Varsity practice.
At this meeting, coaches will hand out printed schedules and go over the important do’s and don’ts of basketball season. It is very important that all players and a parent/guardian attend. If you are unable to make it, please contact your child’s coach as soon as possible.
