As December arrives, the energy around CTA athletics continues to build. The gym is getting busier, the temperatures outside are dropping, and the excitement of winter sports is officially here. With our middle school boys deep into their season and our varsity teams gearing up for their first competitions, this time of year always brings a renewed sense of focus, effort, and Charger pride. We’re looking forward to another great week of growth, hard work, and loud sidelines!
Our Girls Varsity team will ease into competition this week with a scrimmage against Kent City’s JV Girls Basketball team. Then, both our Middle School and Varsity Boys teams will take the court in a “home” double header on Thursday, December 4th at Appleview Elementary in Sparta.

Middle School Boys Basketball
Our middle school boys basketball team took action last Tuesday against Our Savior Lutheran and battled through a VERY close game, ultimately falling 39–40. The boys fought hard from start to finish and came up just short in the final moments. They have a busy week ahead, and we are confident they will take full advantage of the opportunities in their upcoming games!
Varsity Basketball Reminder
This is another reminder that both varsity teams will have their Parent/Player Meeting tonight at Beach Elementary. The meeting will take place at 5:15pm, directly after the boys’ practice (4:00–5:15pm) and right before the girls begin practice from 5:45–7:00pm.
Please make every effort to attend, as we will be covering important information about the upcoming season. If you are unable to attend, please contact your athlete’s coach as soon as possible.
