We hope everyone had an amazing and relaxing Christmas break spent with family, friends, and loved ones. While the break was well deserved, we are so excited to have our students back in the building and our athletes back on the court doing what they love. The energy is back, routines are returning, and we’re ready to jump right back into a busy stretch of the winter sports season.
Right before break, our middle school boys basketball team wrapped up their season, while both of our varsity teams continue competition this week. We’re also excited to officially kick things off for middle school girls basketball, as they begin practice today—welcome to the season!
Week in Review
Middle School Boys Basketball
Right before break, our middle school boys closed out their season with a busy final week, playing three games in just a short span. While they didn’t finish the season quite the way they had hoped, they competed hard in multiple close and competitive matchups. The team finished the season with a 6–8 record, and we’re proud of the growth, effort, and heart they showed all year.
Girls Varsity Basketball
Our girls varsity team also faced a challenging week of competition before the break, playing three games against Fellowship Baptist, Kent City, and Sacred Heart. While they weren’t able to come away with a win, the girls battled through tough matchups and gained valuable experience. They are returning from break focused, refreshed, and ready to compete as the season continues.
Boys Varsity Basketball
The boys varsity team played two games during the final week before break, facing Fellowship Baptist and Calvary Christian Schools. Against Fellowship Baptist, the Chargers competed hard until the final buzzer but came up just short, falling 44–54. They carried that momentum into their matchup with Calvary Christian, where they captured their first win of the season, earning a 46–31 victory—a great way to head into the break!

Please don’t forget—we need YOUR help to keep our athletic events running smoothly! We are currently in need of the following positions for this Thursday’s games at Kent City Middle School:
- Announcer
- Scorebook Keeper
- Ticket Taker
- Scoreboard Runner
The first game begins at 5:45 PM. We will need:
- Ticket taker to arrive by 5:00 PM
- All other workers to arrive by 5:30 PM
