Coming off of Christmas break, our varsity basketball teams wasted no time getting back into action, jumping straight into a very busy week of competition. Both teams were on the court three times this past week, showing great effort, growth, and determination as they continue to find their rhythm as the season moves forward. Now, the excitement continues as our middle school girls basketball team officially joins the action this week—it’s always a great time when another team hits the court! With packed schedules, loud gyms, and plenty of basketball ahead, winter athletics are in full swing.
Week in Review
Girls Varsity Basketball
Our girls varsity team put together a strong week, finishing with a 2–1 record. Their only loss came against Algoma Christian, but they bounced back in a big way with a 27–11 win over Heritage Christian, followed by a thrilling 22–21 victory against Calvary Schools of Holland. The girls continue to compete with confidence and teamwork and now move to 4–5 overall on the season.
Boys Varsity Basketball
The boys varsity team faced very tough competition this week with games against Algoma Christian, Heritage Christian, and Calvary Schools of Holland. The highlight of the week came in a true nail-biter against Heritage Christian. The Chargers trailed 15–21 at halftime and found themselves down by as many as 14 points in the third quarter, but they never quit. With just three minutes remaining, Joshua Watson came up with a huge steal and took it coast to coast to tie the game at 39–39. Heritage Christian answered with a three-pointer and held the lead until the final buzzer, ending the game 41–44. Despite the loss, the fight, heart, and resilience shown by our boys was something to be proud of.

We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who has helped with our athletic events so far this season. Our events cannot run smoothly without volunteers, and we are always in need of help at both middle school and varsity games. We are currently looking for announcers, scoreboard runners, and scorebook keepers for all home games. If you are able to help in any capacity, please consider signing up using the link below.
