As December arrives, the energy around CTA athletics continues to build. The gym is getting busier, the temperatures outside are dropping, and the excitement of winter sports is officially here. With our middle school boys deep into their season and our varsity teams gearing up for their first competitions, this time of year always brings a renewed sense of focus, effort, and Charger pride. Celebrating our Fall 2025 All Conference Athletes

Creative Technologies Academy is proud to recognize several outstanding student-athletes who earned All Conference honors this fall. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to their teams truly represent what it means to be a Charger.Varsity Volleyball: CalyssaA returning captain, Calyssa once again brought strong leadership and consistency to the court. Known for her commanding defensive play, she also stepped into a new role as a setter late in the season and adapted with ease. Coach Stacy Rowland shared, “She consistently commands the court as a defense specialist. Later in the season she stepped into a new role as a setter, and adapted to that change with grace. She is a force to be reckoned with!”Varsity Volleyball: SummarAs a freshman and co-captain, Summar made an immediate impact. She recorded 50 aces this season, ranking her 7th in Michigan for aces by a freshman. She is known for her powerful attacks and blocks, and is already a major contributor to the team’s success. “

There’s just something special about a great Thanksgiving dinner—family gathered around the table, full plates, and football on TV all day long. We are officially entering the winter sports season, and it’s beginning to look the part with snow on the ground! Our middle school boys basketball team is the only team competing so far, while our high school teams are getting started with practices and preparing for their upcoming seasons.Winter is always an exciting time for CTA Athletics as the action moves indoors and the gym fills with energy. Basketball season brings a special kind of intensity—fast-paced games, team chemistry, and the thrill of competition. Fun fact: basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith, who used two peach baskets and a soccer ball for the very first game! Chargers interested in playing basketball this winter!A post about Middle School Boys Basketball has already been made — if you have a MS boy planning to play, please find that post for all the details!Varsity Girls Basketball will be holding two open gym dates before the official season begins:Wednesday, October 29th | 4:30–6:30 PMWednesday, November 5th | 4:30–6:30 PMBoth will take place at Pilgrim Church (across from CTA).The official start date for Varsity Girls Basketball is Monday, November 10th, and their first game will be on Monday, December 8th.Varsity Boys Basketball is still in search of a coach. The plan is to begin practices the week of November 10th, with the goal of holding a couple of open gyms before the first official practice. We have officially reached the end of the fall sports season, and what a season it has been! We saw so much success from all of our teams this year. Both varsity coaches have shared time and again how impressed they are with the growth they’ve seen—not only compared to last year’s teams, but also within the course of this season alone. Attention Middle School Boys Interested in Basketball!

Middle School Boys Basketball (6th–8th Grade) will begin practice on Monday, October 20th, from 3:00–4:30 PM at the Pilgrim Church Gym (across from CTA Schools).Any boys interested in playing this season should attend, dressed in basketball-appropriate attire, with basketball/gym shoes and a water bottle. We’re on to the final week of the fall sports season! We are incredibly proud of all the hard work, effort, and growth our teams have shown over the past several weeks. It’s been an exciting season full of progress, teamwork, and Charger pride—and we can’t wait to see how our athletes finish strong!Win or Go Home WeekThis week is a big one for our fall sports teams—it’s win or go home time!Our Boys Varsity Soccer Team will host West Michigan Academy of Environmental Sciences (WMAES) in a conference play-in game on Tuesday. The Chargers have earned victories in both previous matchups against WMAES this season, winning 3–2 and 4–1.
